If you are
being disciplined, believe you are being disciplined, or are being
questioned about something that may result in discipline, know your
Weingarten Rights!
1. You
have the right to have a union representative present.
2. If you want to
have your union representative present, you must ask for them
3. If you do not
know why your supervisor wants to meet with you, ask them if it is a
meeting that could result in discipline
4. If your
supervisor refuses to allow you bring in union representation,
repeat your request in front of a witness. Do not refuse to attend
the meeting, but do not answer any questions. Take notes. Once the
meeting is over, call your union representative immediately.
Weingarten Statement
“If this could in
any way lead to my being disciplined I respectfully request that my
union representative be present at this meeting. Without union
representation present, I choose not to respond to any questions or
statements."
